Fuck me, of course you can do all the simple stuff and more on android, and yes Apple are cunts for making there apps and stuff like iTunes not work very well or be unstable on Android.

I had a Nexus phone it was great, but with Apple now, as said in my post I never buy the latest phone, get a model a coupld of years old and less than half price, granted I could get a decent android phone for the same money, I just like the simplicity and operating system of using Apple now, having used both that and android.

Its just a phone FFS, and personal preference.

Androids are for poor people and rent boys.

Re: I-phone 12 launch today
I must admit I'm quite surprised at anybody who finds an Android phone "difficult to use".

I suspect it's more of a pseudo rebellious hangover from the reason many gave for choosing Apple products was "Not Microsoft", and they've stuck themselves with the habit.

I'd be surprised if many of the iPhone users who suggest things like that have actually picked up an Android phone and used it.

I'd love to work with Apple's customer base. It's got to be the easiest job in the world whatever you do.

'I might get one in a years time! I like iPhones, they are simple to use and when you upgrade the change over is pretty hassle free, as you can save all your settings, apps etc, then just download to the new phone,'

Blimey! You can't do that with other phones?

' itunes works well with it and will sync with the cars Bluetooth very easily.'

iTunes is deliberately designed to work less well with other phones. If you think that's a good reason to go with a company that would treat its own customers that way, go for it.

Re: I-phone 12 launch today
For me, when I worked, Macs were industry standard computers. The phone was just a natural choice because it matched all my other stuff. It might have all changed now but I’m too old to change. The phones are good and every couple of years, when mrs oi asks me what I want for Christmas, I get a new one.

No more, no less.

Re: I-phone 12 launch today
For many, the Apple brand is simply a fashion statement. Why they are so keen to pay a fortune to make such a statement - and what it's actually saying because I think is simply says "My owner is a dick" - is beyond me.

I'll buy a new phone when the one I've got stops doing what it was designed to do. And if it does that on account of the company who made my current phone deliberately making it obsolete, it will be from another company.

Kerr-fucking-ching.

Does nobody on this site treat themselves to something they fancy even though financially it's a bit wasteful?

Car? Camera? Nice clothes? Watch? Telly? Bottle of wine? Holiday?

No? All get the bus to Westfield & shop in TK Maxx & Primark?

And you call me a sheep because I fancy a new phone!

So, apart from suping up the camera and making it better for those that want to use VR they've basically dusted of the 5 made it into pretty colours and are charging all you iSheep between £600 - £1k for the thing; well, a fool and their money I suppose.

Re: I-phone 12 launch today
I'm not really a phone person, got computers to do the complex stuff and game on, I've got an old Note 3 using a stable 3rd party ISO to get around the invasive surveillance shit google injected into the Android scene, forced on me because the company I was with demanded I have a smartphone and I was strictly running on a basic Nokia at the time and I needed a big screen, it was too big and impractical as a phone but great as a portable computer to remote in with, suddenly all phone companies started making them that size that I have found no normal trouser pocket suitable to contain.

What Woodford wrote is probably the better advice, the people I know with the Pixel phones have excellent cameras and all the power to do shit and stuff with and priced reasonably.

Woodford Green 2:17 Wed Oct 14
Re: I-phone 12 launch today
Google seems to have recognised that there isn't so much innovation going on in the latest phones so have actually released their new range of Pixel 5 phones at a cheaper price than the Pixel 4.

Its by far the best value of the non Chinese brand premium phones in the market. Compared with my work Iphone 11, my two year old Pixel 3 kicks the shit out of it.

Fuck Apple for phones but I do have an iMac that I rarely use so I'm thinking of selling it

As for phones, I've been a Samsung fanboy for a while but I'm thinking of getting a chinky OnePlus Pro which seems the dog's danglies

I’m not fused with the latest model, im using the 7plus at the moment and it does everything I want, good on the Net, big screen, not too bothered about the camera but is useful at times, basically it does everything I want, had it about 2 years and will maybe do another, then will get the 11 or 12, fuck paying the big money release price, in a year or so or when the 13/14 comes out they are a lot cheaper.

Re: I-phone 12 launch today
Apple seem to have opened up to the peripherals after-market with this MagSafe thing so there will be cheaper products to be had.

Re: I-phone 12 launch today
I just looked and the Apple charger is £29!

You can pick up exactly the same charger for about £10 from someone like Ankler who are a reputable company so it shouldn't burn the house down.

3 times the cost for exactly the same thing but it has an
Apple logo on, and they sell loads to their customers who'll buy this phone.

They must be licking their lips.

Re: I-phone 12 launch today
It’s no charger free in the box
Obviously you can buy one & think there is a pad one you rest it on to charge
